Babool & Propolis Gum Swish
A twice-daily swish for inflamed, bleeding, or receding gums.
Propolis is a genuine allergen — anyone sensitive to bee products, poplar, or balsam of Peru should patch-test on the inner arm before applying it to inflamed gum tissue. Acacia gum is a well-tolerated food fiber, but larger swallowed amounts can cause bloating. This is an adjunct, not a substitute for professional cleaning: hardened calculus below the gumline is a mechanical problem and swishing will not dissolve it. Gums that bleed persistently deserve a periodontal exam with pocket measurements.
About this recipe
Ground babool acacia gum with bee propolis, swished along the gumline after oil pulling.
Ingredients
- 3–4 babool acacia gum rocks (Acacia arabica) (arabinogalactan)
- 1 dropperful bee propolis tincture (flavonoids, caffeic acid esters)Antimicrobial — supports Respiratory & Breathing · Immune & Defenses
Method
- 1 Oil pull first with the Daily Mouth-Pulling Blend, then spit into the trash and rinse.
- 2 Put three or four babool gum rocks in the mouth and grind them up between the teeth until they soften into the saliva.
- 3 Squeeze a dropperful of bee propolis tincture directly into the mouth — straight in, not premixed.
- 4 Swish along the gumline, giving extra time to anywhere that bleeds or feels sore.
- 5 Spit, then rinse with warm water.
- 6 Repeat twice daily.
What you'll notice
- Calms swollen, bleeding gums
- Disrupts the biofilm that drives gum disease
- Studied as an adjunct for reducing gum pocket depth
- Feeds beneficial oral bacteria rather than stripping the mouth
- Pairs a traditional chewing-stick remedy with a hive resin
Tips & storage
Use it after oil pulling rather than before — the pull lifts the loose biofilm first, so the swish meets a cleaner surface.
Store the gum rocks and propolis in sealed jars at room temperature, away from heat and light.
