Triphala Water (Morning Detox)
This drink helps with gentle daily elimination and detox.
Avoid in pregnancy (haritaki has mild laxative action). Diarrhea: skip during active episodes. Start with 1/4 tsp and work up — first weeks may include loose stools as the gut adapts. Lifelong-safe at low doses; classical Ayurveda treats it as a rasayana (rejuvenating).
About this recipe
*Triphala* — the most famous Ayurvedic formula, "three fruits": Amla, Haritaki, Bibhitaki in equal parts. Cooling, balancing, tridoshic. Taken nightly as a powder or steeped overnight as cold-infused water, it gently supports daily elimination without dependency. Different from harsh laxatives — Triphala *tones* the digestive tract over time rather than forcing it.

Tips & storage
To make your own Triphala blend, mix equal parts of the three powders. Pre-made commercial Triphala from Banyan Botanicals or Pure Indian Foods is reliable. Cold infusion is gentlest; for stronger effect take the powder directly with warm water at night.
Dry powder: airtight; 1-2 years.
