Ashwagandha Milk (Ojas Milk)
This drink helps with stress recovery and deep sleep.
Ashwagandha is in the nightshade family — those with severe nightshade sensitivity should test cautiously. Avoid in early pregnancy without provider guidance (uterine-stimulating effects in high doses). Hyperthyroid conditions: ashwagandha can stimulate thyroid — monitor. Don't combine with sedative medications without provider guidance. Honey under 140°F. Not for children under 12 months.
About this recipe
The classical bedtime adaptogen drink — ashwagandha simmered into milk with ghee and warming spices. Ashwagandha is fat-soluble; without milk or ghee it does not deliver its full benefit. The combination builds *ojas* — the Ayurvedic substrate of vitality, immunity, and deep rest. Drunk 30-60 min before bed for chronic stress recovery, depleted constitutions, and insomnia from anxious thinking.
