The Bride's Perfume (Song of Solomon)
This perfume oil helps honor an occasion of celebration.
Cinnamon LEAF (not bark) is gentler and safer at this dilution. Patch-test before first wear. Pregnancy: spikenard and myrrh traditionally avoided medicinally; consult provider for skin use. Saffron strands in the oil are decorative and aromatic — small amount, safe.
About this recipe
*A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices.* So Song of Solomon 4:12-14. The bride of the poem is described as a walled garden, planted with the most extravagant aromatic plants of the ancient world. This perfume oil collects them into a single small bottle — every aromatic the verse names, in proportions that work on modern skin. Use for weddings, anniversaries, special occasions, or for the simple practice of dressing for someone you love.

Tips & storage
Reserve this for occasions. The Song of Solomon is a poem about a beloved; the perfume keeps that spirit by being something put on for someone who matters. Daily use would dilute the gesture.
Dark glass, cool, tightly sealed; 1+ year. Improves slightly over the first few months as the resins integrate.
