Important — read before making

Never give honey to children under 12 months. People on potassium-restricted diets should check with their provider before regular coconut-water intake. Unsweetened cranberry juice is intensely tart and acidic — taper the amount if you have GERD, reflux, or active ulcers, or rinse with water after each sip. Pair with a full glass of plain water to round out hydration.

About this recipe

An overnight cranberry-coconut-ginger sip for the morning after. The ginger steeps cold while you sleep; you wake to a bottle of tart, hydrating recovery.

Ingredients

Method

  1. 1 Grate the ginger into a 32 oz bottle.
  2. 2 Pour in the chilled coconut water until the bottle is about ⅔ full.
  3. 3 Top with the unsweetened cranberry juice (the remaining ⅓).
  4. 4 Squeeze in the juice of ½ lemon and stir in the raw honey until dissolved (the cranberry juice is tart — honey is your friend here).
  5. 5 Drop in a few fresh sage leaves if using.
  6. 6 Cap, shake gently, and refrigerate overnight — the ginger infuses cold while you sleep.
  7. 7 Sip slowly straight from the bottle throughout the morning, alongside a full glass of water.

What you'll notice

  • Restores hydration after a hard night
  • Replaces lost electrolytes
  • Settles a queasy stomach
  • Lights up energy without coffee
  • Sippable over the first hour awake

Tips & storage

Tip

For a mintier batch, add 5–6 fresh peppermint leaves with the sage — they'll release menthol slowly overnight and add a cooling brightness to the morning sip.

Storage

Refrigerated, the bottle keeps 24–36 hours — the ginger continues to intensify with time. After 2 days, strain out the ginger and sage to prevent over-infusion.
