Saffron-Cardamom Moonmilk
This drink helps with mood, complexion, and gentle sleep.
Saffron in very high doses (5+ grams) is toxic — recipe doses (a few strands) are entirely safe. Pregnancy: small amounts (under 1g/day) traditionally used; avoid medicinal doses. Honey not for children under 12 months.
About this recipe
The classical Ayurvedic beauty-and-mood moonmilk — saffron strands bloomed into warm milk with cardamom and a touch of ghee. Saffron is the most expensive spice on earth for a reason: even a few threads color the milk gold and carry crocin, the carotenoid linked to mood elevation, complexion, and gentle sedation. Drunk before bed or during seasonal mood dips.

Tips & storage
Use real saffron threads, not powdered (often adulterated). Iranian or Kashmiri saffron is the premium grade. The bloom step matters — pre-soaking deepens the active extraction significantly.
Best fresh.
