Turmeric-Sandalwood-Rose Face Mask

This face mask helps with glow, even tone, and inflammation.

Important — read before making

Turmeric stains — especially fabric and grout. Wear an old shirt. Yellow skin tinge fades within minutes of washing; if it persists, rinse with milk (the fat dissolves curcumin). Sandalwood: rare contact sensitivity — patch test first.

About this recipe

A classical Ayurvedic complexion mask — *Ubtan* family — turmeric for glow and inflammation, sandalwood for cooling and tone, kaolin clay as the gentle base, rose water as the liquid carrier. Used weekly for clear, even-toned skin. Particularly indicated for hot, blemish-prone, or pigmented constitutions.

Classical Ayurvedic formula — adapted with respect for the original tradition.

Ingredients

Method

  1. 1 Mix the kaolin and turmeric in a small bowl (use glass or wood; avoid metal).
  2. 2 Add sandalwood drops directly to the dry mix.
  3. 3 Slowly add rose water, stirring to a smooth paste — should be spreadable but not runny.
  4. 4 Apply a thin even layer to clean dry face, avoiding eyes.
  5. 5 Leave 10-15 minutes until partly dry but not fully tightened.
  6. 6 Rinse with warm water, follow with a light face oil.

What you'll notice

  • Brightens and evens skin tone
  • Calms acne and inflammation
  • Cooling for hot, red breakouts
  • Use weekly for cumulative glow
  • A 15-minute ritual

Tips & storage

Tip

Use weekly, not daily — clay is drying. For oily/blemished skin, mix with rose water and a drop of tea tree (OL003) instead of sandalwood. For mature skin, add the honey and use cream instead of rose water for the liquid.

Storage

Make fresh each time; the wet mask doesn't store.
